In unserem Song Black List geht es um Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung. Mit diesem Song wurden wir im Jänner 2016 von einer Jury in die Top 25 des FM4 Protestsongcontests gewählt. In Kooperation mit local.media entstand nun im Frühjahr 2016 dieses Video.
Die skandalöse Story dahinter:
Ein Grazer mit südamerikanischen Wurzeln möchte mit einem Geschäftspartner (Afrikaner) in ein sehr bekanntes Grazer Restaurant essen gehen. Da an diesem Abend im selben Lokal auch eine Tanzveranstaltung stattfindet wird dem Nigerianer der Zutritt verwehrt. “Anweisung der Geschäftsführung! Keine Schwarzen!” Das ganze klingt nach Mittelalter oder Mississippi in den 60ern – leider geschah dieses Szenario 2014 in Graz. Uns wurde in privatem Rahmen dieses Erlebnis aus erster Hand berichtet. Die Musik für den Song gab es bereits – und aus diesem Bericht schrieb unser Jürgen dann den Text dazu. Das Lokal selbst bleibt von uns ungenannt. Es geht nicht um “Einzelfälle” – es geht darum, dass sowas immer und überall zu verurteilen ist!

And fact is that you’re denied entrance, just because you’re black
What ever happened to our values, are they all gone?

It’s not the birthplace that determines who’s good or bad
Defend your values even if there could be a scar
The way you look is not important for who you are!
